PURPLE fanatic and 80s pop icon Prince has announced a new tour, and said it will be his last "for a while" because he intends to take time off to study the Bible.
Having stayed away from the UK for ten years, Prince said at a press conference that he wanted to make the summer tour accessible to lots of fans.
“The last time I was here a lot of people didn’t get to see me. So I tried to make it more affordable for everyone.”
At £31.21 ($75), tickets for the shows at London's O2 Arena have been labelled 'cheap', because other musicians of similar status routinely charge more. The numbers 3121 are also the name of Prince's 3121 album, and a Las Vegas club where he has performed regularly. The concerts are being billed as the last time fans will get a chance to see the pint-sized musical prodigy strut his stuff on stage, before he takes an extended break.
Dressed in a white suit and trademark purple shirt in a room covered in purple velvet, Prince said that after the tour he wants to "take time off to study and travel".
Prompted about his study plans, the raunchy performer said that he intends to study the Bible.
The Sun newspaper reported that when someone laughed in response to that announcement, the notoriously highly-strung singer walked off in a huff....
